Our athletics program is built on strength and resilience, has a long tradition of championship success and continues to grow with new sports opportunities.

The school adopted the Hurricanes as its mascot and chose teal, black, and silver as its colors, symbolizing strength and resilience. Kapōlei High quickly gained recognition for its athletic programs, earning its first state championship in Girls Bowling in 2003 and Softball in 2004. Since then, Kapōlei has earned state championships throughout its history in Boys Judo and Wrestling along with OIA championships in air riflery, baseball, bowling, soccer, softball, volleyball, and wrestling. Girls flag football and our surf team were added in 2025.
