overview
Kapōlei High School students have the opportunity to participate in a range of co-curricular and special programs. From CTSO (Career Technical Student Organizations) to WBL (Work-Based Learning) opportunities, students apply the knowledge they learn in the classroom to real-world scenarios allowing them to see the relevance of their coursework.
CTSO
Our CTSO (Career Technical Student Organization) offerings have expanded from our first Skills USA team to now include Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA), Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), and Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA-Future Health Professionals), with our students receiving recognition at state and national competitions. Our Future Farmers of America (FFA) CTSO is being developed in 2026.

Marine Corps JROTC Program
We are also very proud of our distinguished Marine Corps JROTC program, honored for years as a Naval Honor School for its excellence in leadership and service. Additionally, Cyber Patriots, a national youth cyber defense program established in 2009 by the Air & Space Forces Association, enables students to compete in cybersecurity, ethical hacking, and network defense. Our JROTC students have competed in national competitions and will be participating in the Gold and Platinum levels in 2026.

Work-Based Learning
Work-Based Learning (WBL) opportunities have been offered to students across our academies for many years, connecting classroom learning to real-world application. Through partnerships with local businesses and industry professionals, students gain firsthand exposure to potential careers, develop professional skills, and build meaningful connections within their community. Together, schools and businesses create valuable learning experiences that prepare students for success beyond graduation.
